Youth & Adult Social Groups
At Autism Support Network, we believe that everyone deserves meaningful connection, friendship, and a sense of belonging. Our Youth & Adult Social Groups are safe, inclusive, and autism-affirming spaces designed to reduce isolation, build confidence, and support social wellbeing at every stage of life.
Youth Social Groups (Ages 12–18)
Our youth groups offer a welcoming environment where young people can be themselves, make friends at their own pace, and develop important life and social skills.
What we offer:
Small, structured group sessions with clear routines
Fun and engaging activities (games, art, cooking, sports, technology)
Support with communication, confidence, and emotional regulation
Peer interaction in a calm, non-judgemental setting
School holiday and weekend programmes
These sessions focus on strengths, interests, and self-esteem, helping young people feel accepted and understood.
Adult Social Groups (18+)
Our adult groups are designed to support connection, independence, and wellbeing in adulthood. Whether you are seeking friendship, shared interests, or community involvement, our groups offer a relaxed and supportive space.
What we offer:
Social meet-ups (coffee mornings, walks, game nights, creative sessions)
Interest-based groups (music, fitness, crafts, gaming, book clubs)
Life-skills support (confidence building, independent living, employment readiness)
Peer-led discussions and wellbeing spaces
Opportunities for volunteering and community participation
Participation is always optional, flexible, and led by individual comfort and choice.
Our Approach
All ASN social groups are:
Autism-affirming and strengths-based
Delivered in sensory-aware environments with quiet spaces
Supported by trained facilitators who understand autism
Designed with clear expectations, visual supports, and flexibility
Co-produced with autistic children, young people, and adults
We recognise that no two autistic individuals are the same, and our groups respect personal preferences, communication styles, and sensory needs.
Why Social Groups Matter
Reduce loneliness and social isolation
Build confidence, identity, and independence
Encourage positive mental health and wellbeing
Create lasting peer relationships and community connection
